Masha and the Bear is a Russian animated television series created by Oleg Kuzovkov and produced by Animaccord Animation Studio, based on the oral history of children of the same name. The show focuses on the adventures of a girl named Masha and a fatherly bear that always keeps her away from disasters. The first episode was released in 2009. The follow-up series Sabuh and Bashi won shortly after due to the constant disputes of the two adorable brothers. The series has been translated into 25 languages and was broadcast in more than 100 countries. [Citation needed] The series was released on Netflix and through NBCUniversal. Treehouse TV also acquired Masha and the Bear from 2016 to date and then it was also acquired on Teletoon.
